Barket Marion founding partner Kevin Kearon recently weighed in on the arrest and prosecution of comedian Bill Cosby for News12 Long Island.
In the wake of the state court acquittal of a Nassau County police officer charged with assaulting an unarmed suspect, founding partner Amy Marion addressed the media with two victims of police brutality, Christopher Loeb and Kyle Howell. Ms. Marion noted the vast discrepancies in how their cases have been handled by federal prosecutors in the Loeb case, and by county prosecutors in the Howell case. Ms. Marion, along with Mr. Loeb, Mr. Howell and their mothers, called on federal authorities to prosecute the Nassau County police officer for violating Mr. Howell’s civil rights, just as they are prosecuting former Suffolk police chief James Burke in the Loeb matter.

Mr. Kearon and Ms. Aldea were able to persuade the court that members of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office acted in a manner that impaired the integrity of the grand jury process causing prejudice to our client’s fundamental right to a fair trial.
